Our basketball team had a successful first season! We had 5 athletes compete at the county competition in November, and 4 at the area competition in December. With a first place finish at the area games, one of our athletes was invited to the state basketball competition in January! He, his family and Ms. Valliere traveled to Tavares, FL for the weekend. After two tough rounds of Individual Skills competition, he brought home the GOLD!

We are now looking forward to training and competing in the Athletics competition (track & field) at the Summer Games. As a Project UNIFY® school, we will have a unified relay race team competing this year. We are so excited to have our unified partners joining us! Come cheer us on Saturday, March 5, at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale.

The Stirling Elementary School Special Olympics Team competed in our first ever basketball competition on Saturday! 5 of our athletes competed in the Individual Skills Competition, including events in dribbling, shooting, and target pass. Between Stirling staff, their families, and the families and friends of our athletes, we had at least 30 people there to cheer on our awesome athletes! We brought home 2 first place ribbons, 2 second place ribbons, and 1 third place! I am so incredibly proud of the kids! Our next competition will be Saturday, December 12. Come cheer on the Stallions!
